Job Summary
Project Controls Specialist sought to join AFRY’s project controls team. Responsible for cost elements of projects including scope changes, budgeting, expenditure information, and forecasts in cost reporting systems; set up, monitor, and forecast all project cost and schedule elements; develop and build project schedules with Interactive Planning; status schedule activities; perform critical path analysis; integrate change notices with known impacts; provide recommendations to project team; and determine peak staffing needs within Engineering and Construction. Requires Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent practical experience) and at least 5 years of project controls experience across markets such as Consumer Products, Pulp & Paper, Foundry, Chemical Processing, Electric Vehicles, and/or Data Centers. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project; knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, change management, WBS, Earned Value, schedule planning, contingency, and resource loading. Strong communication skills with clients, vendors, and project teams; ability to identify problems and escalate as needed; capable of independent and collaborative work in a multi-disciplinary environment; ability to present to AFRY management. Preferred familiarity with Deltek Maconomy and Power BI. Remote option is Hybrid with location in Appleton, WI (USA). AFRY USA offers competitive benefits and an equal opportunity employer stance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical years of experience
- At least 5 years of Project Controls demonstrated experience in relevant markets (e.g., Consumer Products, Pulp & Paper, Foundry, Chemical Processing, Electric Vehicles, Data Centers)
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
- Experience with Budgeting, Forecasting, Change Management, Work Breakdown Structures, Earned Value, Contingency, Schedule Planning, development, updating, and resource loading
- Ability to communicate effectively with project management, other project leads, client, vendors, and construction management
- Ability to proactively identify potential problems and elevate to management
- Thorough planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Ability to perform presentations to AFRY management team
- Experience in Deltek Maconomy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Power BI
