Job Summary
Project Controls Specialist provides high-level administrative support within the Project operations team, including reporting, billing, project closeout, purchase orders, and permitting. Serves as the Subject Matter Expert of project billing processes and analytics, driving milestones, aging report reviews, and proactive solutions. Performs closeout tasks such as final billing true up, inventory allocations, and lien releases; communicates with customer contacts on aged receivables and change orders; reviews construction drawings and understands related regulations (public safety, traffic control, right of ways). Requires strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, data analytics, and collaboration with operations, vendors, subcontractors, and customers. The role emphasizes accuracy, accountability, training/coaching of project coordinators, and adherence to department standards in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of high-level administrative experience supporting project management teams
- 1+ year of invoicing, finance, accounting experience
- Previous experience supporting construction, engineering, and/or procurement teams
- High School diploma or equivalent required
