Project Controls Manager

Job Summary
Lead project controls activities across design-phase and construction-phase projects, including cost control, scheduling, forecasting, and performance reporting. Develop and maintain project budgets, cost-loaded schedules, and cash flow forecasts from early design through construction closeout. Support design-phase cost modeling, schedule development, and scope validation while overseeing change management, trend logs, and impact analysis. Identify risks and mitigation strategies across design development and field execution, ensuring alignment with CRB standards and tools. Provide regular performance reporting to Project Directors, leadership, and clients, and mentor project controls staff. Collaborate with estimating, procurement, contracting, engineering, and construction teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project controls, cost management, or project management within a construction, EPC, or design-build environment
- Experience supporting GMP-regulated or highly technical Life Science design and/or construction
- Demonstrated experience supporting both design and construction phases of complex projects
- Strong understanding of cost control, scheduling (Primavera P6 or similar), forecasting, and earned value management
- Experience working in design-build, integrated EPC, or engineer-led project delivery models
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and project controls software/tools
- Strong financial acumen and ability to translate project data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, construction, and leadership teams
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, technically complex project environments
