Job Summary
Project Controls Analyst role in Calgary, AB focusing on providing analytical support for project planning, cost management, scheduling, risk assessment, and performance monitoring. Responsibilities include developing and tracking project budgets/cost estimates, monitoring expenditures, reviewing invoices and contracts for accuracy, identifying cost-saving opportunities, forecasting costs, maintaining cost records, identifying scope deviations and risks, updating risk registers, and producing timely financial reports and forecasts. The role emphasizes cost control, risk management, change management, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement of project controls processes, with ERP and reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, MS Project, NAVISION, Power BI) to support decision-making. The position reports to the Project Controls Supervisor and is based at the Glenmore Office in Calgary, with collaboration across project managers and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, project management, or a related field
- Experience in project controls, project management, or similar analytical role
- Experience with ERP software (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred)
- Knowledge of project management principles, practices, and methodologies
- Proficiency with project management software/tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Microsoft NAVISION)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong financial acumen and cost management expertise
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using Microsoft Excel or Power BI
