Project Construction Manager (UK)

Job Summary
Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS EPC projects from mobilization through mechanical completion. Ensure works are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements while coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams. Monitor progress, review methodologies to maximize productivity, and lead daily, weekly, and monthly construction meetings. Prepare progress reports, manage interfaces between civil, structural, and electrical works, and support commercial teams on variations and claims. Identify risks, develop mitigation measures, and ensure compliance with approved drawings and UK CDM regulations. Complete punch lists and support commissioning and energization until successful project handover. Foster a culture of accountability and teamwork across the site.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 8 years of construction experience within EPC projects
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing utility-scale Solar PV projects
- Experience delivering projects larger than 50 MW
- Previous experience managing multiple subcontractors simultaneously
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary construction teams
- Strong understanding of EPC project delivery
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Valid driving licence
- Willingness to travel and remain site-based across the United Kingdom (future projects in Nottinghamshire, Essex and Aylesbury)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects
- Experience delivering construction projects within the United Kingdom or Europe
- Knowledge of UK Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations
- Familiarity with National Grid, DNO and ICP requirements
- SMSTS certification or willingness to obtain it prior to site mobilization
- CSCS Black Card or eligibility to obtain it prior to site mobilization
- Temporary Works Coordinator certification is an advantage
- First Aid at Work certification is an advantage
- Experience working under FIDIC contracts
