Job Summary
Design and coordination of multidiscipline projects from due diligence/site feasibility through permitting, developing site layout and design (grading, storm drainage, roadway design, water/sewer), and preparing hydrology/hydraulic calculations with NYSDEC SWPPP awareness. Handles project administration (reports, proposals, cost tracking, progress reports) and prepares engineer’s opinions of probable costs and bid specifications. Coordinates with architectural/engineering departments, communicates with clients, and ensures on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery. Requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills; experience in site development or municipal projects; familiarity with entitlement processes on Long Island; EIT/PE desired.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline
- Strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills, Autoturn, Excel, and Photoshop
- Design experience with site development or municipal engineering projects
- Thorough understanding of entitlement processes on Long Island
- Familiarity with design of public infrastructure and public bidding process
- Self-motivated, able to work independently or within project teams
- Team-spirited, able to make independent decisions
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- EIT/PE desired
