Job Summary
Assist customers with pricing, product, and delivery status information while meeting walk-in clients and handling phone inquiries. Read and interpret architectural drawings to perform detailed quantity take-offs and prepare project information for estimates. Review construction documents for efficiency, lead bid reviews, and determine cost-effective execution methods based on scope. Maintain lines of communication between departments, project managers, and clients regarding cost estimating activities. Work with diverse personnel to ensure corporate success through analytical problem-solving and flexible scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree
- Experience in the Building Industry
- Retail and/or sales experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (Possibility of 1-2 Saturdays 8:00-3:00 a month)
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
- Knowledge of various building materials and their usage
- Knowledge of different types of building finishes
- Basic Math skills
- Continual responsibility of being a cooperative resource to customers and fellow employees
- Working knowledge and everyday use of technology including but not limited to email, phones, internet, MS Office products, Epicor and various vendor programs
- General knowledge on all BRL&H products and services
- Ability to solve problems
- Detail oriented
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

Desired Qualifications
- Construction estimating experience (Preferred at least 2 years)
- Construction Estimating: 2yr Preferred
