Job Summary

Lead architectural and technical development across concept through construction administration, developing buildable solutions that align with project goals and budgets. Coordinate external consultants and lead small to medium-sized internal teams to achieve seamless integration of building systems. Guide projects through plan check, permitting, and regulatory approvals while overseeing construction administration, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting site visits. Collaborate with Project Managers on budgeting, scheduling, and specifications, upholding rigorous Quality Assurance standards. Mentor junior architects and emerging professionals to support their development within a culture of technical precision and innovation.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered/Licensed Architect
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Capability to work independently on projects of appropriate size
  • Strong technical expertise in architectural detailing, building systems, construction methods, codes, and regulatory processes
  • Proven ability to lead small to medium-sized teams
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and pragmatic solution-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications

  • CA licensed
  • Residential Type I and Podium Type III + Type V
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit
  • demonstrated hands-on experience producing high-quality construction documents, detailed modeling, and BIM coordination
  • Experience with California Building Code, seismic design, Title 24 energy compliance, and local permitting processes (San Diego/Los Angeles jurisdictions)
  • Deep knowledge of sustainable design principles, practices, and certifications (LEED, WELL, etc.)
  • Experience developing and coordinating architectural specifications
  • Experience with innovative low-carbon materials such as mass timber
  • Extensive experience leading construction administration and mentoring junior team members through the CA process
  • Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and knowledge-sharing within the firm
