Job Summary
The Project Architect is responsible for leading the planning, design, and coordination of architectural projects, ensuring alignment with client goals, budget constraints, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include identifying client requirements, preparing designs and specifications, creating detailed construction plans, and collaborating with clients and construction teams. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, five or more years of relevant design experience, and active licensure in Michigan. Proficiency in architectural design software and knowledge of building systems and codes are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
- Five (5+) years of relevant architectural design experience
- Active board licensure in State of Michigan required
- Proficient in architectural design principles, buildings systems, local building codes and regulations, and construction methods required
- Ability to travel throughout the state of Michigan regularly (2-3 days per week) to client sites and in-person meetings
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Architecture preferred
- Strong proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Enscape
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and consultation skills
- Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for architectural design
- Knowledge of architectural, civil, structural, and electrical disciplines; building construction; cost estimating; and building codes
