Project Architect - K12 - Spartanburg

Job Summary
Lead the full lifecycle of large, complex K12 projects by developing schematic design concepts, preparing construction documents, and managing budgets. Take responsibility for finished plans, specifications, and material approvals while conducting code research and analyzing environmental, safety, and structural standards. Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve conflicting design requirements, review shop drawings, and respond to RFIs. Act independently to supervise design teams, provide professional consultation, and assume project manager duties as necessary. Manage client relationships and ensure all deliverables meet zoning and aesthetic requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent
- Registered as a licensed architect
- Eight (8) years combined experience as an intern architect and/or architect
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite software
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Firm grasp of building technology fundamentals
- Thorough knowledge of relevant codes, operations, and processes
- Thorough knowledge of relevant trends
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to effectively and confidently prioritize and execute tasks with many competing priorities
- Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to provide clear direction
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity

- Leadership experience
- Master of Architecture
- Experience with Newforma Project Center and/or Planifi Project Analyzer
- Experience with Microsoft Project
- Experience with Bluebeam PDF Revu
- Additional relevant certifications indicating additional expertise such as for construction administration, interior design, LEED/Green Globes/sustainability, etc
