Job Summary
Architectural Designer I to join Cuningham’s Minneapolis office as a Project Architect-focused role. You will lead technical development and coordination of projects through all phases of design and construction, guide project teams in translating design concepts into buildable, code-compliant solutions, coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities, lead code analysis and building systems integration, oversee BIM coordination and project documentation, manage QA/QC for accuracy and contract compliance, identify project risks and communicate solutions, participate in construction administration activities including site observations, support business development through proposals and project pursuits, and mentor emerging design professionals while championing regenerative design and collaborative culture. Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture or related field, 8+ years of experience, licensed Architect preferred, proficiency with Revit/BIM/Bluebeam/Microsoft Office/Adobe Creative Suite, and strong leadership and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or related field
- Licensed Architect preferred; candidates not yet licensed may be considered for a Team Leader title based on experience and qualifications
- 8+ years of professional architectural experience, including experience leading projects through multiple phases of design and construction
- Experience working across multiple project types and market sectors
- Strong knowledge of building systems, construction documentation, technical detailing, building envelope design, and applicable building codes
- Proficiency with Revit, BIM workflows, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with clients, consultants, and project teams
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing technical project delivery
- Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and foster collaborative, high-performing project environments
- Commitment to design excellence, continuous learning, and sustainable and regenerative design principles
