Job Summary
Lead Engineer on capital projects within Meijer Manufacturing. Defines and manages project scope, budgets, schedules, procurement, installation, startup, and closeout for manufacturing capital initiatives; provides guidance on best practices for executing multiple concurrent projects; develops system design standards for manufacturing operations; collaborates with R&D, quality, manufacturing, merchandising, and operations leadership to deliver improvements that enhance productivity and reduce defects; applies continuous improvement tools to meet budget and performance commitments; emphasizes 200% safety accountability for self and others; supports resource conservation initiatives; positions to drive growth and operational excellence across manufacturing facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
- ABET accredited engineering program
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience leading multi-million dollar projects
- Strong project management and multi-tasking ability
- Thorough knowledge of Food Manufacturing Regulatory Requirements (GMP's, Food Safety, etc.)
- Experience in Manufacturing of extended shelf life (ESL) product
- Experience in Aseptic environment
