Project Accounting Specialist II

Job Summary
Process project-related invoices, commitments, purchase orders, and subcontractor documentation while monitoring cost coding and ensuring accurate transaction assignment. Assist with project setup, maintenance, and closeout activities within the ERP system, supporting Project Accountants with month-end reconciliations, reporting, and audit documentation. Review project documentation for completeness prior to processing and resolve invoice discrepancies. Collaborate with Project Management, Procurement, and Operations to maintain accurate financial records and support customer billing. Maintain organized financial documentation in accordance with company policies and SOX controls. Visit job sites, field offices, and customer locations as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years' experience in project accounting, project administration, construction administration, or project financial support
- Experience working with ERP systems such as JD Edwards or similar platforms
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Employee may be required to visit job sites, field offices, and customer locations
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Experience supporting construction, EPC, engineering, industrial, or project-based organizations
- Familiarity with project cost tracking, purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, and project documentation
- Experience with Concur or similar expense management systems
- General understanding of SOX controls and accounting procedures
