Job Summary
Monitor and report financial progress of construction projects, investigating variances, approving expenses, and ensuring billings are issued and payments collected. Track and maintain subcontracts, change orders, purchase orders, and invoices while liaising with vendors on billing, payments, and compliance. Collaborate with project teams to manage budgets, costing, change orders, and forecasts, then identify job cost variances and review general expenses. Manage accounts receivable collections and subledgers, prepare monthly billing and distribution of draws, and ensure all owner contract requirements are captured. Develop detailed contract understandings with project owners and prepare accurate, timely financial and ad-hoc reports. Ensure completeness of project documentation through closeout and respond to customer requests. Travel to assigned job sites in the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area is required.
Required Qualifications
- Accounting/Finance related degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Ability to analyze financial data
- Ability to understand project forecasting
- Ability to prepare financial reports
- Ability to work on site with operations teams
- Highly meticulous nature
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in other MS Office applications
- Travel to assigned project(s)
- Knowledge of the engineering and/or consulting and/or construction sector(s)
