Project Accountant II

Job Summary
Coordinate invoicing for multiple project managers across the country, with exposure to a variety of clients and services; prepare project financial reports, budgets, variance analyses, and backlog forecasts to inform management and clients; interact with sub-consultants to review and process invoices; analyze contracts for project setup and billing terms to support tracking in the project accounting system; communicate with principals, project managers, clients, sub-consultants, and other accounting staff to resolve billing issues; work with project managers and clients to improve accounts receivable collections; collaborate with accounting and project management to prepare financial analyses and reporting; provide administrative support such as file management, copying, scanning, and uploading sensitive correspondence; and demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills in a team environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or Higher in Education
- 4-6 years of billing/project accounting experience with a professional service firm, contractor, or other service-based organizations
- Experience billing local government contracts, time and materials, cost reimbursable and fixed fee projects in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry is a plus
- A desire to learn about environmental science and the engineering industry as well as to develop your project accounting skills to have a positive impact on client satisfaction and the success of the work we perform
- Detailed-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft word and excel
- Experience with BST Global ERP or similar cost accounting systems is a plus
- Strong analytical and management skills
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and learns quickly
- Works well in a team and individually
