Job Summary
Project Accountant at Forum Asset Management in Toronto supports accounting for real estate development projects, maintains project budgets and job cost reports, processes costs in Yardi, reviews invoices and change orders, handles construction draws and holdbacks, assists with cost reporting/variance analysis, performs bank reconciliations, month-end close, prepares journal entries and TBs, supports JV entities, assists with lender reporting, ensures tax compliance (HST), tracks development costs and capital expenditures, and coordinates with development, construction, and finance teams using Procore.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, development, or real estate
- Understanding of job costing and project accounting principles
- Experience with bank reconciliations, HST preparation/filing, and month-end close
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/project management software such as Yardi and Procore
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced construction and development environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
