Job Summary
Detail-oriented Project Accountant (Payroll) overseeing project finances and end-to-end payroll for field hourly and corporate employees in a construction-focused EPC environment. Responsibilities include project accounting (AP/AR, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, financial analysis, labor reporting, invoicing, audits) and payroll administration (data entry/validation, earnings/deductions/taxes, policy development, regulatory compliance, system maintenance). Requires collaboration with HR and finance, adherence to federal/state/local payroll laws, and experience with ADP and Sage Intacct. Ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, 5 years of payroll and/or project accounting experience in construction, and strong proficiency with payroll software and MS Office. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office, 2 days remote) in Minnesota (Minneapolis/Mendota Heights area).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in payroll processing and/or project accounting preferably in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP), accounting systems (Sage Intacct), and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
