Job Summary
Project Accountant responsible for financial management and cost tracking across multiple construction projects, including setting up and maintaining job cost codes, monitoring costs against budgets, preparing cost-to-complete analyses, billing (AIA where applicable), and managing subcontractor invoices, liens, and compliance. Collaborates with project managers, field staff, and the accounting team to ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting, timely billing, and accurate project documentation. Requires strong accounting principles, Excel proficiency, attention to detail, and effective communication to support audits and project reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent
- At least three years of accounting experience in the construction industry
- Knowledge of job cost accounting and project-based financial tracking
- Familiarity with AIA billing formats and construction contracts
