Job Summary
Project Accountant will provide financial management, accounting, compliance, budgeting, reporting, and operational support to the African Youth Panel Programme funded by Mastercard Foundation. Responsibilities include processing financial transactions, budget monitoring, donor compliance, preparing financial reports, audit readiness, and maintaining complete financial documentation in line with TrustAfrica policies and donor requirements. The role emphasizes accurate transaction processing, month-end and year-end closings, bank reconciliations, grant management, and advisory support to program staff and partners in a multilingual, multicultural environment. The position is 100% administrative and reports to the Finance Manager and Project Manager - African Youth Panel.
Required Qualifications
- MBA in Finance and/or Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, project finance, grants management, or financial administration
- Experience with donor-funded projects (NGO/INGO/philanthropy) including Mastercard Foundation
- Experience budgeting, financial reporting, reconciliations, audits
- Experience using ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Business Central
- Speech/Language requirements: English or French (working knowledge of the other)
- Travel willingness for Senegal and other African countries
