Job Summary
Oversee the financial aspects of construction projects, monitoring budgets, forecasts, and actual costs; prepare and issue invoices; perform reconciliations of project accounts (including progress billing, retainage, and change orders); generate comprehensive financial reports for project managers and executives; ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies; collaborate with project managers, estimating teams, and other departments to analyze financial data; support internal and external audits with documentation and explanations. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of project accounting experience in the construction industry; proficient in Sage/Viewpoint and Microsoft Excel; strong analytical, organizational, and communications skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices and principles
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
