Job Summary
Project Accountant supports financial management of mechanical construction projects, handling job cost tracking, subcontract commitments, billing preparation, compliance documentation, reconciliations, and overhead cost monitoring. Works with Project Managers, Operations, Purchasing, and Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost control. Maintains subcontractor documentation, issues commitments, prepares billings to General Contractors, and reconciles job costs to revenue. Key duties include issuing commitment agreements, verifying values against budgets, entering cost codes, managing vendor/subcontractor compliance, reviewing invoices for accuracy, monitoring cost-to-billing, tracking change orders and credits, enforcing A/P workflows, preparing monthly SOVs and cost-to-billing reconciliations, tracking billing due dates, overseeing overhead and credit card transactions, maintaining project files, supporting year-end audits, and contributing to process improvements. Qualifications emphasize project accounting, billing, cost control, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
