Progressive Care Nurse

Assess patient care plans, evaluate needs, and carry out physician orders. Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions using computerized documentation systems. Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care planning team. When acting as charge nurse, make staff assignments based on patient need, acuity, and skill level. Respond timely to requests for information or follow-up with physicians, staff, or patient issues. Utilize therapeutic communication to maintain a safe environment and identify nursing problems related to individual patient needs. Plan individualized care using an interdisciplinary approach and participate in performance improvement activities.
