Job Summary
Progression Coach role in Birmingham at St Basils delivering youth-focused services, including needs and vulnerability assessments, life/social skills programmes, enabling young people to participate in support plans, promote engagement with education/work, secure accommodation, and maintain links with training providers and employers. The post involves incident management, record-keeping, facilitating multi-agency meetings, safeguarding, housing tasks, benefit/rent support, and contributing to psychologically informed environments to improve outcomes for young people.
Required Qualifications
- NVQ level 3 in health & social care, advice and guidance, or other relevant / equivalent qualification (or prepared to work towards)
- Desirable: NVQ level 4 or above in care, advice and guidance or other relevant / equivalent qualification (i.e. Youth or Social Work) or working towards this
- Essential: Working with young people in Youth Work, Residential or Social Work, Probation, Community Work, Education and Training, Housing
- Experience of working with payments by outcomes PBO or PBR
- Experience of working with young people with multiple complex needs
- Experience of Safeguarding vulnerable children, young people, or adults
- Desirable: Experience of working in a Psychologically Informed environment
- Experience of working with people with Dual Diagnosis
- Working with volunteers/students
- Up to date Knowledge of welfare rights & relevant legislation
- Up to date knowledge of housing legislation
- Up to date Knowledge of the children, adults, and associated care acts
- Desirable: Up to date Knowledge of Ofsted supported accommodation requirements
- Up to date Knowledge of Housing Benefit UC rent Systems
- Up to date Knowledge of mental health, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol and homelessness legislation
