Job Summary
Lead a team of five to six direct reports to ensure continuous nutritional assistance for low-income individuals through partner sites and program locations. Set clear priorities, objectives, and measurable goals while managing hiring, supervision, and professional development for Program Managers and indirect reports. Coach staff to address day-to-day food flow needs, resolve client and partner incidents, and develop systems supporting diverse food provision methods. Build and deepen community partnerships by meeting with partners, site leaders, and team members to strengthen collaborations and identify root causes of hunger. Ensure compliance with Feeding America, USDA, and Second Harvest standards through timely data collection, reporting, and alignment with internal committees. Manage projects supporting food flow processes and emergency responder duties as an essential service.
Required Qualifications
- Six to eight years of applicable work and educational experiences
- At least three years of complex project management experience
- Excellent people management skills
- Two years supervising people
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, provide direction and lead others
- Demonstrated experience in program design, implementation, and evaluation for non-profit or social change organizations
- Proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with people of various ages, educational, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Demonstration of cultural humility in work with diverse stakeholders
- Strong foundation in the ideas and practices that promote diversity, equity, and belonging
- Proven commitment to ongoing professional development in diversity, equity, and belonging
- Working knowledge of public and private community service resources within San Mateo County or Santa Clara County
- Demonstrated ability to express ideas clearly via telephone, in person and in writing
- Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license
- Clean DMV record
- Willingness to drive personal vehicle, as necessary
- Full-Time, Exempt employment classification
- 40 hours/week
- Some evening and weekend work as necessary
- Regular remote work site within driving distance of one of Second Harvest's locations
- Regular remote work site must be within the state of California
Desired Qualifications
- Fluency in another language like Spanish, Vietnamese or Chinese, both oral and written
