Job Summary

Facilitate evidence-based cognitive behavioral classes, ensuring curriculum content is delivered in its intended format and participants understand required materials. Prepare lesson plans, instructional hardware, and classroom adaptations while maintaining facility cleanliness and inventorying supplies. Conduct weekly orientations for incoming participants, review program rules and costs, and assist individuals in defining goals and planning courses of action for personal and vocational adjustments. Complete administrative documentation, including attendance records, dispatch paperwork, and monthly progress reports for referral sources and case managers. Participate in staff meetings to discuss behavior management strategies and share insights on participant progress. Work Monday through Saturday, including evenings and weekends, with overtime as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field
  • Ability to be certified in Indiana Risk Assessment System (IRAS) Instrument Training/Application
  • Ability to be certified in Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT)
  • Ability to be certified in the facilitation of various CBT curricula
  • Ability to be certified as a Thinking for a Change facilitator
  • Ability to be certified as an MRT facilitator
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Knowledge of criminal justice system operations
  • Knowledge of evidence-based principles and practices
  • Ability to use overhead projectors, DVD players, teleconferencing equipment, and other technology
  • Ability to lift up to forty pounds
  • Must be able to work during hours most conducive to target population, which includes Monday through Friday, some nights, and Saturdays, as scheduled
  • Must be able to complete required Correctional EBP training programs and demonstrate competencies that focus on empirical recidivism risk reduction strategies

Desired Qualifications

  • One year of experience in classroom facilitation and/or teaching
