Job Summary

Programming & Engagement Specialist is responsible for supporting communities with vacant or transitional Programming & Engagement leadership positions by providing hands-on operational, programming, and engagement support across Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care. Travels up to 100% of the time, serving as a key support partner to community leadership and the corporate Programming & Engagement team. Responsibilities include temporarily filling vacant leadership positions, leading resident-centered engagement programs, maintaining daily programming standards, engaging residents, developing calendars and newsletters, tracking attendance and engagement reporting, identifying residents at risk for isolation, onboarding new residents, coaching team members, maintaining organized spaces, managing budgets and expenses, ensuring dementia-care programming reflects residents’ needs, supporting compliance with regulations, providing transportation support, attending meetings, and traveling as needed. Requires state-regulation certifications for Activities/Life Enrichment (preferred), experience in senior living programming and dementia care, strong leadership and communication skills, CPR/First Aid, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel up to 100%. Physical requirements include frequent bending, lifting, standing, walking, and resident escorting. Location: Civitas Fort Worth, TX.

Required Qualifications

  • Certification as required by state regulations for Activities/Life Enrichment preferred
  • Experience in senior living programming, resident engagement, or dementia care required
  • Previous experience in both traditional senior living programming and Memory Care programming strongly preferred
  • Must demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to new environments and changing operational needs
  • Must possess a vibrant, outgoing, and highly engaging personality with the ability to build relationships quickly
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills required
  • Ability to independently lead programming operations with minimal supervision
  • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as both a team member and an individual contributor
  • Must be honest, dependable, professional, and maintain confidentiality
  • Practice and promote Civitas Policies and Procedures, Mission Statement, Core Values, and Founding Principles
  • Experience planning and executing engagement programs for residents with varying cognitive and physical abilities
  • Ability to support and train community team members as needed
  • Must maintain applicable dementia-specific training requirements
  • Requires current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Must meet all health requirements
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 100% of the time, including overnight travel
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
