Job Summary
Programmer Analyst responsible for analyzing requirements, designing, developing, and testing new applications with a focus on data handling; modify data structures and warehouse models to support business requirements; assess data workflows for automation and faster time to market; maintain and revise existing applications, provide user and IT support; collaborate with product development and application teams to develop new software and improve existing programs while ensuring data integrity and compliance with standards (e.g., SOX); must be proficient with various programming languages and databases, and able to translate specifications into working software throughout the SDLC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or Associate degree in computer science, information technology, or software engineering
- plus two years relevant work experience
- Proficiency in programming languages including ILE RPG, RPG/Free, CL, PHP, and HTML
- Strong relational database experience with MS SQL, DB2, and MySQL; data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling experience preferred
- Ability to work in team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with non-technical staff
- Experience with SDLC methodologies and SOX compliance
- Experience providing programming support for interfaces (SFTPs and APIs)
- Ability to modify data structures, schemas, and warehouse models to support new business requirements
- Experience with ad-hoc data extracts and data quality investigations
- Knowledge of IBM application development software
- Insurance industry knowledge preferred
- Occasional travel (< 10%)
