Job Summary
The Programming Analyst I will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of data infrastructure and analytical tools supporting large-scale environmental and omics datasets. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and maintaining data processing pipelines for environmental exposure and metabolomics, integrating multi-source data (cohort, clinical, laboratory), optimizing workflows for performance and reproducibility, and assisting in database development and data management. The role involves writing and maintaining clean, well-documented code (Python/R), supporting data quality control and standardization, enabling visualization and reporting for scientific publications, and collaborating with investigators and research staff in an interdisciplinary environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, bioinformatics, public health or a related field
- Preferred 1–2 years of experience in programming, data analysis, or scientific computing
- Proficiency in Python or R
- Experience with large, complex datasets
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and/or data management systems
- Understanding of version control (e.g., Git) and reproducible research practices
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary research teams
