Job Summary
Develop our evidence-based programme strategy, quality management, and impact for MAG's Syria operations, ensuring work remains needs-driven, results-based, and closely monitored. Collaborate with the Syria programme team, regional management, and global support units to adapt forward-looking operational and funding development strategies. Act as the key representative of the Syria programme to MAG's leadership and coordination with donors, peer organisations, partners, and humanitarian fora. Foster crosscutting initiatives to enhance diversity, integrity, inclusiveness, and accountability within the team. Report to the Country Director with a focus on developing and implementing programme development and implementation. Fluency in English is essential, with Arabic skills advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- experienced humanitarian manager
- significant relevant experience in programme quality management
- significant relevant experience in community inclusion
- excellent people management skills
- experience mentoring and supporting staff both directly and remotely
- proven capacity to work on safeguarding related matters
- sound understanding of the humanitarian, development, and ideally mine action sectors
- significant experience developing, coordinating, managing, monitoring, and evaluating a range of programmes
- Experience working in the Middle East
- working with a range of humanitarian actors including national authorities, and local and international organisations
- Fluency in English
- be able to obtain visa or work permit within a reasonable time period
