Programme Controls Lead:Aviation

Job Summary

Provide best practice Project Controls expertise across the programme, incorporating cost management, scheduling, reporting, and risk management. Facilitate programme controls meetings to align design consultants, contracting staff, and contractors on expectations and optimize performance. Monitor all projects from promotion to completion, relaying cost, time, and risk data to the programme director for strategic decisions. Recruit and mentor a high-performing team of Project Controls professionals while coordinating reporting with central functions. Direct and support the performance management of cost, schedule, and risk leads, developing key objectives and strategic direction for these functions. Chair monthly project reviews and risk workshops to ensure effective management from cost, time, and risk perspectives. Maintain a database of benchmarked costs and develop schedule risk-adjusted budgets for each financial year. Act as the key interface with the Corporate Risk Manager and implement new business systems to enhance programme efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
  • Minimum 15+ years' experience
  • At least 3+ years within the aviation industry
  • Knowledge of project financial and cost management systems
  • Knowledge of risk management systems and development of corporate and project risk strategies
  • Significant experience of leading, managing and organising teams within an operational service delivery area
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness including monitoring and co-ordination of budget
  • Experience in programme scheduling and resource integration
  • Excellent project management skills with the capability to provide the motivation to ensure that targets are met, and timelines achieved
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage deliverables within tight timelines
