Job Summary
Co-conceptualise and implement research interventions to test strategies improving discom financial health and operational efficiency. Identify renewable energy deployment and integration issues to co-execute research aiding policy and market changes. Assist in understanding new power market designs and regulatory interventions from emerging countries. Conduct analyses using advanced data analytics tools to advance programme objectives. Develop trust-based relationships with discoms, regulators, system operators, and procurement entities to understand sector transitions, collect datasets, and disseminate findings. Write high-quality research reports for peer-reviewed journals and share insights through presentations and reports. Track key power sector policy developments at state, national, and international levels.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in quantitative economics, statistics, power systems engineering or management, public policy, energy economics or related field
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience
- Strong research background
- Understanding of the electricity distribution, renewables sector, and power procurement practices of discoms
- Track record of team and project management including timely delivery of outputs
- Demonstrable experience in stakeholder engagement at state-level
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Proficiency in MS-Excel
- Proficiency in Hindi and English language
- Ability to summarise and communicate the insights/findings in written and oral formats
Desired Qualifications
- Any certifications related to power sector regulations and operations
- Understanding of STATA/R/Python and other data visualisation tools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
