Job Summary
Conceptualize new research ideas aligned with programme objectives and support the development of publications including policy briefs and peer-reviewed journal articles. Conduct primary and secondary research through in-person discussions with stakeholders, including travel when required, while keeping track of global policy developments. Manage specific projects under the umbrella programme, ensuring deliverables meet international quality standards within time and budget constraints, and handle financial reporting for these initiatives. Present research to key constituencies at policymaking levels and act as an ambassador for the organisation at conferences and workshops. Independently develop concepts for new research programmes and mentor junior team members.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree with a specialisation in finance, economics, or a related field
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience in the field of policy research, banking, credit rating, corporate finance, structured finance or consulting
- Strong knowledge of finance, including from the perspective of the nature and type of capital flows needed to fuel the energy transition
- Deep understanding of the energy transition space, including the wide range of stakeholders (policy, private & other) that it covers
- Strong analytical skills including quantitative research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Interest and ability to lead teams, motivate and guide younger researchers, and provide them with a ground for accelerated learning and high performance
- Flexibility in undertaking a variety of tasks
Desired Qualifications
- Specialisation in the areas of climate, energy or sustainable finance
- Strong track record of project management and timely delivery of outputs
- Experience in dealing with public and private institutions
- Building relationships with collaborators and government stakeholders
