Programme Assistant

Job Summary
Provide administrative and programme support to the Adviser for Communication and Information Sector, coordinating CI Sector projects from design through implementation, monitoring and reporting. Contribute to developing concept notes, terms of reference and reports to support resource mobilization; liaise with national commissions, partners and donors to ensure contractual deliverables meet standards. Enhance sector visibility by maintaining website content, managing social media and a photo/video library; coordinate sector events, workshops and meetings, including arranging venues, travel and related logistics. Prepare information packages, assemble presentations, draft and edit correspondence, take minutes, and translate documents when needed. Supervise interns/trainees and support other sectors as required, delivering efficient, timely outputs for UNESCO’s CI programme in Southern Africa.
Required Qualifications
- At least a BA in Communication, Journalism and Media Studies, Information or ICT or Digital-related Studies or Social Sciences
- Minimum 2 years experience, experience working in an International and multi-cultural organisation will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; proficiency in local language is an added advantage
