Job Summary
The Programme Assistant supports the Programme Unit in UNFPA Malaysia by handling programme design and implementation, research, and data analysis, and by assisting with the management of project activities. Responsibilities include assisting in hiring processes for programme partners (ensuring PSEA compliance), coordinating and reporting on planning, monitoring and evaluation, compiling and presenting data on programmes, preparing annual/quarterly workplans, organizing meetings and logistics, conducting monitoring visits, preparing budget revisions and financial reports, processing purchase orders, maintaining project documents, supporting knowledge sharing between programme and operations clusters, drafting routine project-related correspondence, and providing communications support (including updates for social media). The role requires secondary-level education with a preferred BA/BS in a related field, several years of relevant experience, strong communication and writing skills, and proficiency with office software and Google Workspace. Fluency in English and proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia are required.
Required Qualifications
- Completed Secondary Level Education required.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, public health, population, economics, demography and/or other related social sciences field is preferable.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in social sector/programme development is required for candidates who completed Secondary Level Education.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in social sector/programme development is required for candidates who hold a Bachelor’s degree in the related field.
- Fluency in English is required
- Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia required
