Job Summary

Coordinate client treatment from admission through discharge by monitoring daily activities in a residential setting and ensuring complete coordination with the treatment team. Provide clinically supportive services including active listening, crisis management, and motivational techniques while maintaining appropriate treatment boundaries with consumers and families. Observe self-administration of medications using two identifiers, document activities per protocol, and collect BAL and urine screens as needed. Ensure clients receive comprehensive services by guiding daily program formats, providing transportation for off-campus activities, and responding promptly to consumer requests. Maintain a safe living environment, utilize verbal redirection before emergency measures, and accurately document all interactions. Give objective shift reports, maintain computer proficiency for order communications, and foster a cooperative teamwork style with co-workers, medical staff, and community members.

Required Qualifications

  • Driver's License - Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position
  • Control over personal use of all mood-altering chemicals and behaviors
  • Minimum of 2 years of uninterrupted recovery (if recovering from addiction)
  • Advanced reading skills
  • Advanced writing skills
  • Advanced oral skills
  • Communication skills
  • Ability to respond appropriately to customer/co-worker
  • Interaction with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to communicate only the facts to recipients or to decline to reveal information

  • Ability to provide emergency assistance in regard to inappropriate acting out behavior by any client
  • Ability to give accurate, objective data during report to oncoming shift
  • Ability to actively maintain open communication and demonstrate a cooperative, teamwork style with clients, significant others, other IIAR staff members, other healthcare works, medical staff and community
  • Ability to stay abreast of Health IT updates and changes regarding order/care planning
  • Ability to report any areas of care that are not completed or were unable to be re-scheduled
  • Ability to give direction to other team members
  • Ability to demonstrate courteous, respectful and caring behavior toward consumers, visitors, staff and outside contacts
