Job Summary
Guide and monitor patients in planning and simplifying life skills tasks, supervising individual life skills outings and functional communication exercises. Maintain therapy areas and equipment for cleanliness, coordinate administrative tasks, and instruct new team members on departmental maintenance. Complete speech pathology clinical tasks under direction, including documentation of clinical observations and functional swallowing exercises. Ensure compliance with clinical policies, report injuries, and participate in departmental meetings and trainings. Maintain licensure renewal and complete mandatory education and competency assessments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- BLS certification
- Active Georgia Speech Pathologist Aide license
- One (1) year previous health care experience
- Basic computer skills
- Current Georgia Driver's License
- Ability to closely follow detailed instructions
- Competency in time management, organization, prioritization and critical thinking
- Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication
- Ability to adapt to changing work demands and work environment
- Ability to successfully complete orientation and initial assessment of competency
- Ability to complete mandatory education and annual competency assessment requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a health-related field
