Job Summary
Support clients with autism and complex medical needs through structured activities, personal care, and mobility equipment operation. Implement behavioral intervention strategies, plan leisure programs, and provide supervision in therapeutic and respite settings. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent care, while preparing meals, managing laundry, and maintaining accurate documentation. Keep in-centre materials organized and cleaned daily. This role combines behavioural intervention and respite services across ErinoakKids' services, requiring a client-centered approach and strong communication skills within a team atmosphere.
Required Qualifications
- Child & Youth Worker (CYW) diploma, Developmental Support Worker (DSW), Social Service Worker (SSW), Personal Support Worker (PSW), Autism Behavioural Sciences (ABS) certificate or relevant education and/or experience
- Experience working with children and/or young adults with autism, developmental disabilities, and/or complex medical needs
- Experience working with children and youth with challenging behaviors
- Experience working with children and/or young adults with medical needs such as seizures, tracheostomies and feeding tubes
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Clear vulnerable sector screening
- Mandatory immunization requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingualism in French and English
- Enjoy working with children in a team atmosphere
