Job Summary
Program Supervisor for the Therapeutic Group Home (TGH) program at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch leads and mentors TGH Managers and their teams to create safe, structured, and nurturing environments for youth with complex needs. Responsibilities include planning work and schedules, interviewing/hiring/onboarding/training staff, conducting evaluations and coaching, ensuring staff training and regular meetings, managing performance and corrective actions, overseeing funding documentation and eligibility, providing leadership for programming needs and budget compliance, delivering crisis intervention and de-escalation as part of regular services, overseeing administrative duties (scheduling, budgeting, fiscal matters), and fostering effective relationships with families and treatment teams. Required abilities include crisis intervention and de-escalation, leadership and staff development, working with youth with emotional/psychiatric issues, cultural competency, software proficiency, self-motivation and teamwork, communication, and willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR and Violence Intervention Prevention certifications. The role emphasizes adherence to YBGR policies and treatment philosophy, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years old or older
- Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance: Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana
- License to operate a passenger vehicle
- Education and Experience: an advanced degree in social work or a comparable human service field and two years of relevant experience; or bachelor’s degree in social work or a comparable human service field and four or more years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated professional skills in crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Demonstrated professional skills in leadership and staff development
- Demonstrated ability to work with youth with emotional and psychiatric issues
- Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse individuals and build rapport with those individuals
- Use of computer and able to quickly learn and use YBGR selected software solutions
- Demonstrate being self-motivated, self-disciplined, and diligent with forward thinking
- Demonstrate the ability to think of their team over self and define success collectively rather than individually
- The ability to effectively interact and communicate with others
- Willingness and ability to obtain certification in First Aid/CPR and Violence Intervention Prevention
