Job Summary
Lead and develop before, after, and summer day camp staff by hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating volunteers while maintaining required staff-to-child ratios. Oversee planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum, ensuring culturally relevant lessons and event plans are completed. Provide direct supervision to children, purchase and prepare snacks, and maintain site cleanliness and supplies. Manage the site budget, conduct staff meetings, and communicate confidential information with parents and school personnel. Recruit new enrollments and collaborate with school administration to ensure a safe, quality child care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years or older to apply
- Three years or more of experience working with children, camps, childcare, tutoring or nannying
- One year or more of supervisory experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Have completed 30 credits of 100-level or above college-level coursework
- MMR Vaccination Required: Licensed School Age Programs require Mumps, Measles and Rubella immunization in accordance with Department of Children, Youth and Family requirements
- We require pre-employment TB tests and MMR vaccination
- Ability to model and demonstrate Y values; caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
- Experience planning and implementing group activities
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
- Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful
- 45 credits of 100-level or above college-level course work
- Previous experience in school age care programs and summer day camps
- Thrive on working in a collaborative environment
