Job Summary
Deliver engaging and interactive instruction across multiple subjects (mathematics, science, English, foreign languages, social studies) while providing individualized tutoring and academic support. Develop and implement project-based, student-centered lessons that align with Upward Bound rules; support students in setting academic goals, preparing for standardized tests (ACT/SAT), researching colleges, writing personal statements, and applying for scholarships/financial aid. Monitor progress, provide feedback to students and families, collaborate with staff to coordinate activities and field trips, and maintain accurate records. Foster a safe, inclusive learning environment and leverage educational technology to enhance learning, with hybrid work options (online, on-campus, and hybrid) in Vero Beach, Florida.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, English, or a related discipline
- Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in the specific subject matter
- Experience in teaching or tutoring high school students from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional strategies for disadvantaged youth
- Familiarity with college admissions processes, financial aid, and scholarships
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles
- Proficiency with educational technology and online learning platforms
