Job Summary

Entry-level Program Specialist I focused on HIV/STI prevention, testing, and education within CAN Community Health. Responsibilities include HIV/STI/Hepatitis C testing and risk reduction counseling (phlebotomy where applicable), client education on PrEP, HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation in electronic medical records and state reporting systems, development of community partnerships (BRTA/FRTA agreements and MOUs), and conducting community-based outreach at shelters, bars, inpatient centers, and other venues. The role involves coordinating events, distributing condoms and promotional materials, and representing CAN Community Health at local, state, and national meetings while collaborating with internal and external teams to address community needs. The position requires basic understanding of HIV pathways and is authorized for standard clinic hours with occasional extended hours including nights and weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a related field preferred
  • Relevant college-level coursework may substitute for experience
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a Level I and Level II Background check as required
