Job Summary
Temporary doctoral student role supporting design, implementation, and maintenance of the Foundation's research and evaluation activities; participates in development and execution of research studies, program assessments, and internal learning efforts; conducts substantial quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis, and literature reviews, and prepares reports for internal and external audiences; requires collaboration with senior staff and stakeholders; emphasizes equity and rigorous research methods; 11-month assignment with hybrid schedule including one in-office day per week; positions aligns with Graduate Research Assistant level responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment at an accredited university doctoral program located in the Chicago area
- Primary research focus in education
- At least two years of experience using qualitative research methods on one or more research projects
- Qualitative research experience including designing and conducting interviews and focus groups
- Coding and thematic analysis experience
- Proficiency with qualitative data software such as NVivo, ATLAS.ti, or Dedoose
- Strong equity lens and experience with equity-centered or community-based participatory research methods
- Project management experience is a plus
