Job Summary
Develop and implement quality initiatives for School Readiness and Voluntary Prekindergarten programs by providing training, technical assistance, and ongoing support to program directors and staff. Observe instructional practices, establish quality improvement goals, and build collaborative mentoring relationships grounded in trust and professional growth. Conduct Guiding Stars validation activities, support the wage incentive process, and finalize program star ratings while maintaining accurate documentation and program data. Travel throughout Duval County to support providers, manage multiple priorities, and perform special projects assigned to the department. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, one to three years of coaching experience, and valid CLASS Observer Certification.
Required Qualifications
- Must live in Duval County, FL or surrounding areas
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field
- One to three years of experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring adults in preschool, early learning or primary education settings
- Valid driver's license
- Current CLASS Observer Certification in Infant, Toddler and PreK age groups
- Must obtain CLASS Observer Certification within one year of start date
- UF Lastinger Center coaching certification required within one year of start date or when the certification opportunity becomes available
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
