Job Summary

Develop and implement API policy positions regarding the Endangered Species Act and conservation, while coordinating with member companies and management on legislative approaches. Manage The Environmental Partnership program by supporting the Director in developing performance projects, organizing workshops, and overseeing annual reporting and data analysis. Maintain program materials, manage the TEP website and member rosters, and respond to stakeholder requests across government, industry, and the public. Establish contacts with government representatives to promote industry policies.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, with subject matter expertise in oil and gas operations and/or environmental policy, environmental science, ecology, biology, political science, environmental law, natural resources management, air and methane emissions, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area or other related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of industry, trade associations, and/or energy-related regulatory/legislative issues as well as public issue advocacy strategies and the regulatory development process is required
  • Attention to detail, exceptional organization and prioritization skills required
  • Initiative and ability to work both independently and collegially with others in the department, across the organization and with member company representatives are essential
  • Excellent communications (written, verbal and graphical), planning, organizational and analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity or experience with the Endangered Species Act (ESA), Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act (BGEPA) is desirable
  • Familiarity with industry voluntary conservation programs, agreements, plans and/or strategies, particularly as they relate to the ESA, is desirable
  • Familiarity with WordPress is desirable
