Program Manager, Technical Safety

Job Summary
Lead development, implementation, and oversight of technical safety programs across transit for all modes; ensure assets, systems, and operations comply with applicable safety regulations, engineering standards, and industry best practices; identify, mitigate, and monitor safety risks and hazards; provide subject-matter leadership in RAMS and safety standards; lead a cross-functional team bridging safety and engineering to support safe and reliable delivery of transit services; manage the unit’s human and financial resources and partner relationships.
Required Qualifications
- 4 year university degree in Engineering, Science, Social Sciences, Health and Safety or related technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in safety, risk management, fleet safety or safety assurance
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience
- Knowledge of CSA Z1000, ISO 45001/31000, EN 50126, OHSAS 18001, ANSI Z10
- Strong understanding of safety engineering principles and risk management methodologies
- Experience with regulatory compliance and governance including Transport Canada, TSB, MO Ontario
- English language proficiency
