Job Summary
Program Manager for the SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program oversees grant-funded suicide prevention initiatives for veterans, including planning/implementation/evaluation, budgeting, and compliance with federal guidelines. Responsibilities include monitoring expenditures, preparing regular reports to VA and stakeholders, coordinating with mental health professionals and peer mentors, audits and documentation submission, stakeholder engagement with VA officials and community partners, and leading bi-weekly care coordination meetings. Requires Master’s (or BA with relevant veteran-services experience), strong leadership, data management (VA tools/Salesforce), and ability to work with diverse teams. Location is Chittenango, NY; role involves on-site program management with travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field, OR bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field with relevant work experience with veterans with mental health issues
- Experience in program coordination, project management, or grant administration
- Knowledge of suicide prevention principles, interventions, and best practices for veterans and families
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with data collection and analysis techniques; proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management; Salesforce preferred
