Job Summary
Lead the development and delivery of YPIE's SAT Prep program, planning and facilitating data-driven instruction aligned to College Board standards for reading, writing, and math. Recruit, train, and supervise a cohort of 25 Student Success Coaches to provide peer tutoring and mentoring for high school students. Manage program logistics, analyze diagnostic assessments, and maintain active relationships with families and stakeholders to ensure student progress toward college readiness. This role operates across multiple sites in Yonkers, NY, with a 10-month calendar running from August through June. The Program Manager reports to the Director, Readiness, and contributes to YPIE's mission of expanding access to higher education for youth in mid-sized cities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of teaching/facilitating student learning (non-traditional classroom experience welcome)
- Prior experience tutoring or teaching SAT, ACT, or high school-level Math
- Strong writing and public speaking skills
- Proven organizational and program tracking skills
- An outcomes-focused orientation
- Ability to navigate partnerships with diverse stakeholders
- Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours based on program needs
- A car and willingness to travel to program site(s)
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated success improving student SAT/ACT/math scores
- Teaching certification or certificate of eligibility
- Ability to see the big picture and sweat the small stuff at the same time
- Flexibility and adaptability; able to roll with the punches
- Spanish, Arabic, or other bilingual fluency a plus
- You enjoy solving challenging problems to reach measurable outcomes
- You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where you will manage your own time and curriculum implementation to support each student
