Job Summary
Lead, support, and direct teams of senior project managers, engineers, designers, and field personnel involved in the design, modification, analysis, and constructability of new and existing utility systems. Identify all project risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies while investigating, troubleshooting, and solving engineering and construction-related issues. Prepare, review, and approve proposals, contracts, and cost estimates with executive authority, and negotiate revisions with sub-consultants and clients. Manage, supervise, and schedule execution of programs with comprehensive oversight, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Monitor productivity, quality, financial health, and progress while leading safety initiatives and coordinating with area agencies and municipalities for approvals. Report project updates to clients and build executive-level relationships for long-term strategic partnerships. Travel as required for program needs and client engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Typically requires bachelor's degree from an accredited program
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively in team and hybrid environments
- Ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines
- Proficiency in time and expense software for program management
- Experience leading and mentoring less experienced staff
- Utility design and/or coordination experience
- Experience in leading an engineering design team through all phases of project designs
- Familiarity with area agencies, municipalities, and governing jurisdictions
- Experience overseeing project managers and their teams
- Contract negotiation and management expertise at executive level
- Program management and financial oversight capabilities
- Risk management and mitigation strategy development
- Safety leadership and compliance management
- Client relationship building and maintenance at executive level
- Ability to work for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds at a time
- Travel as required for program needs and client engagement
Desired Qualifications
- CAPM or PMP licensure recommended
