Job Summary
Develop a person-centered implementation strategy based on participant choices, preferences, and needs to ensure learning and skill development. Supervise direct support professionals through interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and performance appraisals while directing daily activities. Implement comprehensive support plans and report progress on goals and tasks to participants and their families. Establish constructive relationships with the support network to facilitate community engagement, employment, and social experiences. Ensure agency policies and strategic plans are communicated effectively to staff and participants.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human services field, including, but not limited to psychology, sociology, special education, or rehabilitation counseling
- one year experience working directly with individuals with Intellectual or other Developmental Disabilities
- valid driver's license
- proof of insurance with a minimal of 100,000/300,000 liability coverage
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, participants, customers, and the general public
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Competent knowledge of behavior principles
- Ability or willingness to learn basic computer operations for participant data tracking, incident reporting and other processes deemed necessary by the supervisory staff
- Ability to drive the agency's vehicle
- Ability to provide assistance to participants as needed such as maneuvering wheelchairs, or assisting participants in ambulating and transferring when necessary
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs
- Must be able to lift between 11 lbs – 50 lbs
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Must be able to talk and hear
- Must be able to stand, walk, and sit
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb-height, reach above shoulder level, crouch, kneel, balance and push/pull
- Must be able to use the left and right hand for repetitive actions for simple grasping, firm grasping and fine manipulating
