Job Summary
Program Manager for the Policing Leadership Academy at the University of Chicago Crime Lab. Responsible for managing all aspects of the five-month policing leadership education program, coordinating with the Program Director and organizational leadership, overseeing planning and execution of program activities, budgets, and external partnerships, and maintaining strong communication with internal research teams and stakeholders. The role emphasizes hands-on management of academic/research programs, development of detailed work plans and schedules, resource planning, progress tracking, and quality assurance to ensure timely, effective delivery of the program and its outcomes. Strong candidates will have experience leading event planning processes in fundraising or non-profit settings, and there is a preference for experience with quantitative data analysis and prior policing or criminal justice exposure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (college or university degree) at minimum
- 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Experience coordinating academic, research, clinical, or administrative programs
- Ability to develop detailed work plans, schedules, and resource estimates
- Experience with budget management and external partnerships
- Advanced degree strongly preferred in related qualifications
- Experience with quantitative data analysis and research design preferred
- Experience in policing or working with the criminal justice system preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with diverse audiences
- Independent work style in a fast-paced environment
